The Upland Community Foundation is proud to support multiple organizations and projects throughout the city of Upland. Donors may designate their giving to our General Fund or one of the following programs:
“Do the greatest good for the greatest number” is the motto for the Community Emergency Response Teams, all across the United States. CERT members are trained to care for themselves and their families as their primary mission. Following that, they can help neighbors and perhaps be called upon to help the larger community. Upland CERT, serving under the direction of the Upland Police Department, works to train citizens to act in emergencies. To date, over 250 Upland residents have been through the 24 hour, FEMA directed, training program. In addition, Upland CERT members are called on to assist Police Department and Fire Department personnel in emergencies, as well during public service opportunities. Friends of Upland Animal Shelter was formed solely out of a desire to support the Upland Animal Shelter so that it can provide a high quality of animal care and find homes for as many animals as possible. We have worked in a collaborative manner with the City since our inception and today are honored to operate the sheltering and adoption functions at Upland Animal Shelter on behalf of the City. Despite the challenges associated with an open intake municipal facility that cannot turn animals away, we are dedicated to operating under a “no kill” philosophy that aims to save every shelter pet.

The Upland Adopt A Soldier Military Banner Program is a non profit organization that raises money for banners to be hung throughout the City of Upland to recognize our Men and Women who are actively serving in the military and protecting our country. It is run by volunteers and all banners are purchased and placed using the donations received. One large fundraiser is held every year in June, that raises several thousand dollars. If you would like to help by donating, please click How You Can Help and donate using Pay Pal. Thank you for your support!

Officer Dark served the City of Upland for over 12 years. He gave the ultimate sacrifice when he died in the line of duty on September 17, 1940. He left behind his wife, Walteen and two young children, Harold (7) and Maxine (5).
In partnership with the community, the members of the Upland Police Department would like to create a memorial in honor of our fallen Officer. The memorial will be built on the southeast portion of the Upland Police Department property. All costs associated with the construction of the monument will be from private funding and donations.
The Homeless Outreach Program has been developed by the Upland Police Department. This project is focused on raising funds to serve those that find themselves in a crisis situation and are homeless in our community.

The Upland Veterans’ Monument Project features a 14-foot-tall pentagon black granite monument topped with a bronze American Eagle. The history of each branch of service, as well as information about U.S. military conflicts and campaigns, are included on each panel of the monument and on instructive kiosks located throughout the plaza of the City of Upland Library and City Hall.
