Sid Robinson is the current president of the Upland Community Foundation. Robinson has enjoyed a successful and diverse career spanning more than 40 years as a strategic communicator and public relations professional. He currently is an adjunct faculty member in the communications departments at both California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and California State University, San Bernardino. Robinson recently was a special consultant for the California State University system’s Office of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs and for the president of the University of La Verne. He is co-owner and managing partner of Upland-based strategic communications and public relations firm Robinson and Associates, LLC.
Robinson was the associate vice president for public affairs at Cal State San Bernardino, and he held public relations leadership positions at Fairplex in Pomona, Magnet Communications and with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Cal Poly Pomona and a Master of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Southern California, where he was named the School of Journalism’s (now Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism) Graduate Student of the Year by the Trojan Fourth Estate. He is accredited in public relations (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America. He has won countless awards for his public relations programs, including Best of Show awards from the Los Angeles-based Publicity Club of Southern California, Public Relations Society of America California Inland Empire Chapter and the Press Club of Southern California.
A resident of Upland, Robinson served on the Upland City Council from 2016-2018 and Upland Planning Commission from 2014-2016. Robinson served on the executive committee for the League of California Cities Inland Division and the League of California Cities statewide Community Services Policy Committee. Throughout his life, Robinson has been an active and influential leader in his community. He was chairman of the board for Inland Valley Recovery Services, and he also serves on the boards of directors for the Upland Community Foundation and the Upland Veterans Monument Project Committee. He led the Upland-Fairplex Community Committee and served on the board of directors for the West End Consolidated Water Company and Upland Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Upland National Little League board of directors for a decade.
A native of Claremont, Robinson also served as president of the Claremont Dugout Club and on the board of directors of the Southern California Winter Ball Association. He is past president and a long-time board member of the Public Relations Society of America’s California Inland Empire Chapter. He was the chapter national assembly delegate and a member of the PRSA Western District board of directors. Robinson also held the role of president of the Press Club of Southern California.
Kelly McMenomy is a certified public accountant and managing partner in the firm of McMenomy & Richmond CPAs, LLP in Upland. Her community service includes a current volunteer appointment as a Director on the San Antonio Regional Hospital Foundation board and a member of the Pomona Valley Estate Planning Council. Her past service includes volunteering for the adult literacy program for the Upland Public Library and board member for the Girl Scouts Spanish Trails Council. She is also a member of the California Society of CPAs and the AICPA. She graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in accounting. Kelly raised her family in Upland and has been a member of the Upland community since 1985.
Kelly is also a director of the Upland Rotary Club for 2016/2017 and co-chairperson for the Foundation Committee and Mini-Grant Committee.
Andy Peterson began volunteering at Upland Animal Shelter in 2010. He was one of the founding board members in 2011 of Friends of Upland Animal Shelter, and serves as its current President. He has fostered animals for many years and currently fosters regularly for Friends of Upland Animal Shelter. Andy graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems and Decision Sciences from California State University, Fullerton. He has held many management and technical operations roles at global telecommunications and Internet companies since 1996. He joined the Upland Community Foundation Board in 2020.
Neil is a retired career educator, having spent over 50 years in higher education. He spent the last 25 years at Pomona College and 15 years prior at Cal Poly Pomona. Neil is on the UCF Board as a representative of the Upland Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) which is affiliated with the Upland Police Department. In CERT, he has served as the Executive Officer and is a CERT instructor. In the community, Neil has been an active member of Temple Beth Israel, including two terms as President. He is an AYSO National Referee and referee instructor. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for Mount San Antonio Gardens, a retirement community in Claremont. Neil and his wife Joan have lived in Upland since 1977 and raised their two children, Alison and Craig here. They are the proud grandparents of five.
Stephanie Wells graduated from USC with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. She worked as a writer and producer in the television industry for over 15 years before moving into the nonprofit world where for over 25 years she has specialized in financial development and strategic planning. She currently serves as the Executive Director of The Friends of EXPO Center – a non-profit providing vital community resources to families, seniors, and children in South Central Los Angeles and Executive Director of the Hypersomnia Foundation – a non-profit supporting research, advocacy and awareness of rare sleep disorders. Her prior experience includes serving as Senior Director of multiple Southern California YMCAs and was instrumental in the strategic development and initial fundraising for the Scheu Family YMCA and the Upland YMCA Early Childhood Development Center. She has served as the Associate Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Montclair Council, Western Region Director of Development for the Foundation Fighting Blindness, and Principal Gifts Officer for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Stephanie, her five adult children, two dogs, and two cats are all Southern California natives and thoroughly enjoy living in and supporting the beautiful city of Upland.
Todd D’Braunstein has been a proud resident of Upland for nearly 30 years. In addition to his active involvement with the Upland Community Foundation, Todd serves as a member of the Upland Community Emergency Response Team (UCERT) and has held leadership positions in numerous professional and community-based organizations recognized both locally and statewide.
Todd recently retired from the State of California after more than 30 years of dedicated public service. He was appointed by both Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Governor Jerry Brown to serve on the Board of Vocational Nurses and Psychiatric Technicians, where he contributed to advancing professional standards and public safety in healthcare.
He earned his Certificate in Psychiatric Technology from Hacienda La Puente Adult Education and later completed a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University.
Todd and his wife, Jessica, enjoy spending time outdoors with their two Goldendoodles, taking advantage of Upland’s many beautiful parks and community activities.

A true Upland native with over five decades of deep-rooted history in the city, Valerie has dedicated both her professional life and her heart to the community that raised her. After graduating from Upland High School and earning my Bachelor of Science from Cal State San Bernardino, Valerie embarked on a fulfilling 38-year career in Recreation and Community Services for the City of Upland, eventually retiring as a Recreation Supervisor. Valerie’s commitment to civic duty continues today through her volunteer work with the Upland Veterans Monument Committee. Beyond her professional legacy, she is a devoted wife of 33 years and a proud mother of two Upland High alumni-including a college graduate and an Eagle Scout. Valerie enjoys serving as a volunteer with the Scouts of America that includes her favorite pastime, camping.
Valerie’s journey is a reflection of love for her family and a lifelong mission to enhance the vibrant community she is proud to call home.
Kalyn Rose Miller is a development and engagement professional who is deeply committed to strengthening communities through philanthropy, volunteerism, and relationship‑building. She currently serves as a Development Officer at the Claremont Colleges where she works closely with donors to foster meaningful engagement and inspire philanthropic support in service of the College’s mission.
Raised in Chino Hills, Kalyn’s commitment to community began early. She grew up actively participating in local service and civic efforts, including calling bingo at a senior living facility, adopting a road to keep it clean, supporting the Friends of the Chino Hills Library, volunteering on local campaigns, and serving on the Chino Hills Yellow Bus Committee. In recognition of her early leadership and service, she was named Chino Hills L.A. County Fair Junior Community Hero in 2008.
Kalyn is a proud alumna of the University of La Verne, where she earned her Batchelor Degree in Political Science and remains closely connected as a member of the Alumni Advisory Board. As a student, she was a member of the 101st Debate Team, participated in Model United Nations—where she met her husband, Michael—and founded the Cru chapter on campus.
Mentorship has remained a central part of Kalyn’s life. For the past five years, she has been actively involved in Youth Ministry at her church, where she has mentored middle and high school students. Supporting and empowering young people continues to be one of her greatest passions.
In 2022, Kalyn and Michael moved to Upland with their three cats Lucky, Beatrice and Nellie. When not working or volunteering, Kalyn enjoys learning about wine, traveling the world, and camping with her family.
Michael Miller is a public service professional with a strong commitment to civic engagement, effective local government, and community impact. He currently serves as Director of Special Projects for the Fourth District of San Bernardino County, where he supports district operations and initiatives across policy, administration, budgeting, community programs, and constituent services. In this role, he also serves as the district’s representative for the City of Upland, acts as policy advisor for County Airports, Ontario International Airport, and the South Coast Air Quality Management District, and manages community and constituent concerns.
In 2025, Michael was appointed as a Public Works Commissioner for the City of Upland, further deepening his commitment to public service at the local level. That same year, he received a San Bernardino County Public Service Recognition Award for Quality and Innovation, recognizing his contributions to improving county operations and community outcomes.
Born on the Western Slope of Colorado, Michael moved with his family to Corona, California at the age of three. He is a proud University of La Verne alumnus, where he participated in Model United Nations and served as president of the club. It was during his time at La Verne that he met his wife, Kalyn. In 2013, he was named the University of La Verne Emerging Leader of the Year in recognition of his leadership and service on campus.
Michael and Kalyn moved to Upland in 2022, where they live with their three cats—Lucky, Beatrice, and Nellie—and are actively involved in the community. In his free time, Michael enjoys learning about wine, traveling, camping, and exploring the trails of San Bernardino County in his Jeep.
Lon Teague started his career with the Upland Police Department in January 1993 as a Police Explorer. In December of 1993, he was hired as a Police Cadet. Lon was hired as a Police Officer on July 1st, 1996.
His special assignments included: Upland/Ontario Narcotics Task Force Officer, Field Training Officer, SWAT, and Crime Impact.
Lon was promoted to Detective in 2014 and promoted to Sergeant in August of 2018. As a Sergeant, he helped restart the Upland Police Department’s SWAT Team, served as a patrol supervisor, and supervised the Special Investigations Unit, Impact Team, and the -K9 program.
He was promoted to Lieutenant in July of 2022. He is currently the Patrol Operations Commander which includes Patrol, Traffic, and Communications. He is also the SWAT/Crisis Negotiation Team Commander.
